Cyclonic Storm Luban had been identified by the India Meteorological Department IMD with a depression formed in the Arabian Sea that causes heavy rainfall in Tamilnadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

According to the IMD, in the next 3 days, a cyclone named Loban is likely to move towards South Oman and Yemen Coast, and due to this, there may be heavy rains in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go into the sea. The next 12 hours have been warned of the worst in the sea.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the severe formation of cyclone, it can cross Oman and Yemen coast. Given the cyclone storm, the Indian Coast Guard has placed all its bases on high alert. Coast Guard has alerted its Dornier aircraft and vessels to deal with any untowardness in Kerala, Lakshadweep, Minicoy Islands and South Tamil Nadu.

There is a review meeting with the district administration in Kochi and Lakshadweep, about the relief and prevention preparedness of the storm.
