Increase in Interest Rate For Small Savings Schemes – Sukanya Yojna, PPF, NSC:
Small savings schemes like Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana, Public Provident Fund PPF, National Savings Certificate (NSC) interest rates had been recently increased by the Modi Government for October-December quarter.
The Finance Ministry gave a tweet on 20th September 2018, Thursday and informed about the Revision of interest rates for Small Savings Schemes. Accordingly, you will now get more interest on other schemes including Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana, Public Provident Fund PPF, National Savings Certificate (NSC).
According to the notification, now you will get 8.5 per cent interest on Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana. Earlier, till September, you got 8.1 percent interest on it.
Even on public provident fund, you now get 7.6 percent interest annually. Now it has been increased to 8 percent. Interest on the Kisan Vikas Patra has now become 7.7%. Earlier it was 7.3 percent.
According to the notification of the finance ministry, you will now get 8 percent interest on National Savings Certificates (NSC). Earlier it received 7.6 percent interest.
Apart from this, 7.7% on 5 year’s monthly income account, 8.7% on Senior Citizens Savings Scheme and 5% on Recurring Deposit, you will now get 7.3% interest.
