Punjab Zila Parishad Panchayat Elections 2018 Final Result Latest Updates:
After the voting of the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samities held on September 19 in Punjab , the results will be declared today (September 22). Counting of votes will start from 10 am and results will be announced by all the zilla parishads and panchayat committees till 4 o’clock. In order to ensure that there is no default in the counting of votes of panchayat elections, adequate security arrangements have been made by the administrative authorities in place.
Under these elections, 2,354 members of the Zila Parishad and 2,900 members for Panchayat Samiti have been elected. Please state that there are a total of 22 Zilla Parishads and 150 Panchayat Samities in the State.
Before counting the vote, the opposition Akali Dal accused Congress of capturing booths, making false voting and using force. Although the ruling party of the state dismissed these allegations and claimed that the poll was free and fair. Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who went to polling booths in his area after voting in Muksar district, claimed that a large number of Congress workers captured booths in the hands and police remained silent spectator during this period.
During the voting on September 19, news of tardy violent incidents took place in many areas. Police told that some unknown people in Firozpur had fired in the air in the Basti Aziz area and broke the glass windows of the Shaid worker’s car window. Officials said that a 44-year-old man was killed while returning home after casting vote in Fatehgarh Sahib district.
