The CAT admission process comprises Written Ability Test, WAT, Group Discussion, GD, Personal Interviews, and PI. All these levels hinge upon your performance in CAT 2017 exam. IIMs might furthermore utilize other facts such earlier academic performance of the applicants, relevant work experience & other similar inputs in filtering and ranking of candidates at different stages of the admission process. The processes, exam cut-offs and the weights apportioned to the evaluation parameters might differ across IIMs.
In case the candidates are shortlisted for interviews by any IIM, please comply with the following eligibility checking:
- Mark sheets & Degree Certificate
- Display all the mark sheets and give attested copies to enhance eligibility at the date and time of interview.
- If chosen for a degree, present original degree certificate and mark sheets of all semesters/ years including the attested copies for checking during the time of joining the programme.
If you come under the spl. category (scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, SC, ST, NC-OBC & PWD), then you (if shortlisted) should produce the original caste/ class and/or disability certificate and surrender a photocopy during the interview schedule. Further, if an applicant is chosen for a programme, the original testimonial of passing degree and attested copy of the same should be given for verification during the time of joining a programme.
Those taking the final under graduate degree or equivalent qualification examination, if filtered, should generate an original certificate from the Principal / Registrar / Director of the university confirming that the applicant has scored fifty per cent marks or equivalent (forty five percent for ST, SC, & PWD) depending on recent available grades/ marks. He/she should submit an attested copy of the original certificate at the interview time.
The due date to submit the mark sheet and the certificate is by 31.12.2017. If not provided, the IIM official will have to reject the candidate’s provisional admission.
